“Interior design is not just finishing a space with fashionable and beautiful things, it is applying creative and technical solutions to a space. I try and think of the needs of the end users, how the space will be used and how my design can best meet and even improve the use of the space.
Design is creative but it also is very technical. You have to understand human behavior. People always ask how to choose a colour or furniture style, but this involves taking into consideration psychological factors and as well as a person’s taste. For example, colour affects mood and furniture is related to space. Finishes must be appropriate and aesthetic while visual characteristics, functionality, durability, installation method and cost need to be taken into consideration.
Design should be equitable, flexible, simple and intuitive for everyone who might use it. It should flow: Form, Function and aesthetic “
